Delly Ranx The Next Chapter Rar Files
Wow, what a year for reggae. Well the return of it anyhow! Busy got jailed, and released, and still dropped the biggest tunes of the year! We have some big relicks, big roots and big dancehall outta both Europe and Jamaica. We have the return of Penthouse and Digital B running some big riddims again!
We see newcomers Exco Levi, Chronixx, Chan Dizzy, and Protoje cement their place at the top of the scene. We see Romain Virgo pretty much reach super stardom while staltwards Delly Ranx, Gentleman, Tarrus, Vybz, Milly, Konshens, Mr Williamz and Mr Vegas lead the pack again.
We have producers Fenchie, Dre Skull, Don Corleon, Major Lazor, Head Concussion and Shane Brown ruling tings. All subjective of course. What's your favourites? Fresh ZippyLink reup! Slim Smith and Cecile - Girl You Hold Me (Leggo di Riddim) Courtney John - Every Way (You Dont Care Riddim) Etana - Johnny Too Bad (Mesopotamia Riddim) Major Lazer f/ Sani Showbizz - Big Piece of Chickennnn (Alibaba Riddim) Chino f/ Kardinall Offishall - L.S.L (Live Some Life Riddim) Ken Boothe and Mr Vegas and Chauncey D - When I Fall In Love (When I Fall In Love Riddim) Busy Signal - Come Shock Out J.O.E. I'm pretty excited to be asked to jam for an upcoming NYE party (thanks Tobi) featuring the almighty Channel One Soundsystem!
So as I do, I thought I would bang out a little mix to celebrate and promo the BIG night! So without further ado, we have 50 stone cold classics from the rocksteady and reggae eras, through to roots, dub, rub a dub and digital styles! Check the if you are kicking around the shakey isles of Auckland, New Zealand.
It's gonna be a dope night - in one room we have Channel One Soundsystem booming the Jafa rig supported by NZ's best roots and culture selectors, while the dancehall party hosted by Bigga Tingz will be popping shit off next door!!!!!! Alriiighty, some huuuge tunes here! A tonne of big new riddims and excellent full length reggae albums of late. Absolute legends of the reggae including Marcia Griffiths, U-Roy, Leonard Dillion, Max Romeo, Cocoa Tea, Vivian Jones, Yami Bolo, Jack Radics and The Pioneers are back in action as well as crews like Digital B, Penthouse and Jukeboxx getting back in the mix. THE REGGAE SOUND is well and truly back! Part 1 Part 2 Rachaad - Love Love (Digital B) Raging Fyah - Cold World (Digital B) Tarrus Riley - Cold Girl U-Roy f/ Marcia Griffiths - Love Questions (Pray Fi Di People) U-Roy f/ Chezidek - Border Line (Pray Fi Di People) U-Roy f/ Horace Andy - Reason With Jah (Pray Fi Di People) Marcia Griffiths f/ Tanya Stephens - Want Love (Marcia Griffiths And Friends). I may as well wrap up the relick series with a little dancehall set!
Well it's not strictly a dancehall mix as we have a bunch of rocksteady and reggae cuts turned into monster party bangers! Again, I could have gone deeper with all the early dancehall stuff but I'm only on this earth for so long!!! I'm seriously only scraping the surface here! I've always wondered in my ponderous (stoned) times, much like the big questions of the universe, just how many reggae songs have been produced over the last 50-60 years? You know the drill - only the highest grade Undercover selections from the past month or so inna roots, reggae, relick, remix, ska, dancehall, digital and dubstep styley!
A mix for the hip hop heads. Dripping with soul, jazz, funk, latin and disco vibes! Zara McFarlane - Police & Thieves PillowTalk - Sunny Raiza Biza - Girl With No Name Suff Daddy - Pattern Select Blu & Exile - Cent from Heaven Sola Rosa f/ Miles Bonny - Misunderstood Chester Gregory - High Love (Freddie Joachim Remix) D'Angelo - Devil's Pie (arX 247 Remix) Aaliyah - Rock The Boat (Question RMX) Raiza Biza - Pyramids BJ the Chicago Kid f/ Kendrick Lamar, DJ Battle Cat & Jairus Mozee - The World Is a Ghetto Sola Rosa f/ L.A. Rawls f/ Kurious - Emergency. Alriiight, it's been a while!
A mixed bag here, some nice relicks and Jamaican Anniversary tributes to start things off, some fresh Major Lazer with the classic 'Big Peice of Chicken' over snoops Artibella riddim. We drop a couple off Delly Ranx's new album 'The Next Chapter', another reggae revival tribute. A bit light on riddims I found interesting this month, they are big though, with a killer relick of The Jamaican's Ba Ba Boom and killer dancehall action from Special Delivery! We then get all digikal on it with Macka B and Necessary Mayhem in combination as is General Levy and Joe Ariwa. Big stuff from Face T, Dirty Dubsters, Jah Mason and King Dubbist round things off in a digital dubstepper style! It's been a while, busy, busy, but I've managed to distill the last month or so of BIG TUNES! We start with a WICKED version from my favourite newcomer Exco Levi with my favourite old-timer Marcia Griffith!
We then feature some great tracks of Cutty Ranks new album, a SOLID album IMO. We also have Mr Bob Marley re-incarnated himself (lol) Snoop Lion with what I think's a killer relick of Artibella, props this time but lets see what else you bring! We then run though some solid roots and dancehall riddims for your pleasure! Exco Levi f/ Marcia Griffith - Love Is A Treasure Remix (Marcia and Friends) Cutty Ranks f/ Beres Hammond- Way To Go (Full Blast) Jahmali - Politics (El Shaddai) Snoop Lion - La La La Cutty Ranks - Murders and Thief (Full Blast) Jesse Royal - Bittersweet (Revolution Time!
Some killer dubwise action! This has been on repeat on the ipod of late as it's perfect for a long commute (as I do). Some heavy Martin Campbell kicks things off before sampling some Niney, Yabby You, Revolutionaries, Bobby Kalphat and of course King Tubby the great.
Exclusive biz from the land of the long white (ganja) cloud - New Zealand! Aaah little did you know we have a good little underground scene down here that goes pretty hard. I think the beauty with being so far attached from the rest of the world is we stand apart from all the 'scenes' and we can stand back and just pick and choose styles we dig. Influences down here originally stem from good old Bob plus a good dose of foundation reggae, but I would say nowadays we all love a likkie bit of hip hop in our reggae.
In this mix we have a few of my dubplates and either NZ productions, NZ vocals or both! Players on the New Zealand scene production wise include Tiopira and Simon from High Stakes who produced a big number one tune on the Jamaican dancehall charts for Popcaan (the big time!), Messenjah at Reality Chant produces the baddest JA/Euro influenced roots riddims, Iron Will from Riddim Central always bangs down a big riddim as well as being a roots man, Art Offishall from Newtown Sound who produces big hip hop and digital influenced reggae and Chris from Dub Terminator who drops some of the best reggae dubstep worldwide IMO. As for vocalists you have to start at The Mighty Asterix who for years along with stalwarts like Tuffy Culture, DLT etc have been the founding influence of New Zealand reggae. The next generation bring Asterix's son Israel Starr to the stage who I have the pleasure of jamming with and he always blows me away with his vocal range - from Slim Smith melodies to Johnny Osbourne singjay styles to ragga muffin Buju gruffness! MC Arme is another star who grew up singing gospel in his church and has now turned his talents to vicing big tunes with my crew the Sandy Bay Social Club, just check that version of Come Around - Lord a Mercy! Silva MC is another local talent who just tears shit up in the dance and reps for all the sistas worldwide, her new ep/album is dropping soon so be sure to google it!
DJ Grassroots is a multi-talented sound-man whose flow from sweet to gruff voice sounds wicked in the dance and over his own productions! Chilean import Jah Red Lion has recently hit out shores and made big waves teaming up with Riddim central and recently Dub Terminator!
Then there is Ras Stone who I think sits atop of most NZ mc's at the moment, his voice is so crisp and clear and he shines on everything from foundation, roots, steppers, dubstep and to his chargrin - dancehall! Which brings us to the dancehall scene where we have the Yung Shottaz repping hard in a group styley and recently Max and Raiza teaming up to create Caged Lion. Gappy Ranks - Put The Stereo On (Sandy Bay Dubplate) Israel Starr - Foundation (Newtown Sound) Mighty Asterix - Dub Murderer (Undercover Dubplate) Mighty Asterix - Blood of the Saints Mighty Asterix - Yardwise Stylee (Niceup Dubplate) Natty King - Fyah Bed (Reality Chant) Natty King - Fyah bed (Dub Terminator Remix) Tiki Taane - Faded Silva Emcee - Here We Go Again (Riddim Central) Israel Starr f/ Silva MC and Juse1 - Speak! Reggae Music Again! Big shouts to the foundation dons like Fattis' (RIP) Xterminator label, Fat Eyes with Bulby still at the controls, Penthouse and it's new main men Shane Brown and Busy Signal, legend European producer Frenchie, vocalists Yami Bolo, Beres Hammond, Bushman, Alton Ellis and Don Cambpell returning to the scene. The experience and sound they bring is definitely rubbing off on the younger crew like Raphael, Exco Levi, Masika and Jesse Royal and teaching them a few tricks!

It's been a while since I dropped some soul, jazz hip hop and beets! Here is a swag of stuff from the last little while that I'm digging.
Lianne La Havas - Is Your Love Big Enough? Ladi6 - Like Water (Parks Remix) Suff Daddy - Pattern Select J. You can't beat a good rootical dubstep remix! Vibes aplenty with old school boys and girls Kiddus I, Linval Thompson and Susan Cadogan pon the mic along with solid remix action from New Zealand's own Dub Terminator and Johnny Lowe. Bobby Treasure - Horns of Blessings Bam Bam Dealers - Prophet Rootah - Mr. Okay, sorry bout he delay in this post!
First up we have some cheesey (but dope) mashups from the one like Jr Blender, the dope remix of Puppy Love (thanks for the tip Phat Pat) before we go rinsing the riddims.I always get excited when I see a riddim called conversation in hope it's a relick of the Slim Smith classic, however I wasn't dissapointed when I heard this one! Speaking of relicks, next up we have the massive Rockfort Rock riddim with some maaad vocals from newcomer(?) Exco Levi!!!! Fade Away gets the treatment with a favourite Wayne Marshall taking honors on that one for me. A boom riddim called Global Selection is up next with a nice conscious vibe to it. Taking the crown this month for me for top riddim would have to be Make It Gwan!
Huge vocals from none other than digital dancehall legend Carl Meeks and two vocalists I have never heard of Kiko and Virtus, I looove these big tunes!!!! Rounding it out this month we have a little remix of Rock & Stop riddim, a nice little dancehall riddim called Northern Lights and a Buts and Vybz collab! Another few weeks of big releases! Macka B's new album is SOLID with the veteran UK toaster riding nuff classic rocksteady, reggae and roots classics and I'm loving the Golden Pen tune - the original Sylford Walker tune an old favourite of mine!
Next up we have some old Oneness Production favourites (and versions for all those DJs) followed by their brand new Reggaeville Riddim, BIG, BIG, BIG! Next up we have the return of King Kong pon a Horace Andy relick (I think) and Half Pint and Aidonia riding Bob's Mr Brown.
A surprise release for Digital B with the randomly named Rosemary Riddim. Da Grynch's Possessed finally finds it pon the net, while Don Corleon teams up with much hyped newcomer Masicka. We then drop some dancehall with the rocking Rock & Stop riddim with none other than Pinchers still ruling tings! Full Swing is another BIG riddim as is Loudspeaker Riddim which I can tell will be a big summer hit.
We finish things off with another couple from Mr Vegas new album (thoughts on the album people?), the massive Certain Law and Dancehall Queen. It's the ressurection! Thanks for all the encouragement - you kept the fire burning! Any old mix requests that are down just holla and I will see if I can upload again. Moving onto new music, wow some biggies here!
Sweet vibes coming from the Jah Golden Throne album as well as Mr Vegas' new double LP inna original reggae and dancehall styley! A favourite riddim get's a relick in the form of Fall In Love - how's that Delly Ranx version!
The Title Riddim is big with dope vocals, as is Promise Land (not sure if new?). Some big tunes from Cali P, again off his album Unstoppable. Finally we finish with those dope extended dubs from Busy Signal's new album. Babylon Yah Wrong! Cornel Campbell and U Roy - Babylon Yuh Wrong (Jah Golden Throne) Glen Washington - Fall On Me (Jah Golden Throne) Courtney Melody - Attracted to You (Traveling Man Riddim) Mykal Rose - Live it Up (Traveling Man Riddim) Mr. Vegas - A Little Love (That's All I Want From You) (Sweet Jamaica) Mr.
