Hi Hans-werner I don`t know the full history about QCAD but basically LibreCAD was forked from the community Edition of QCAD which is a 'free' version.The other versions of the QCAD product are 'paid for' versions! LibreCAD is and always will be a free and open source 2D CAD application and there will be much improved features etc. In the next version 2.0 release!

Yesterday I have downloaded and installed LibreCAD. Today I've played around with the software and learned that LibreCAD was forked of from QCAD. I`ve never heard before of LibreCAD nor QCAD. Don't remember how I found it.
